HorseAbility, founded in 1993, is pleased to introduce you to our program. HorseAbility is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status as designated by the Internal Revenue Service. We are also proud to be one of the only NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) Premier Accredited Center’s on Long Island. This title is awarded to centers that demonstrate excellence in providing quality, professional equine assisted activities. This voluntary process recognizes NARHA centers that have met established industry standards. To Learn More About NARHA click the link below.

HorseAbility offers a wide range of opportunities for our clients including a Therapeutic Riding Program a Hippotherapy Program, a one-week Summer Day Camp, and an Equine Facilitated Therapy Program. HorseAbility also offers many volunteer opportunities. Horse experience is not a necessity. There are many areas in which volunteers are needed! HorseAbility, located in Melville NY, and currently provides quality equine experiences year round to over three hundred clients with the assistance of more then three hundred and fifty volunteers and continues to grow.


WHAT'S NEW

LIHSSRD kicks off show season...
On Saturday, April 19th at the Thomas School of Horsemanship, riders demonstrated their skills and brought home excellent ribbons.  LIHSSRD has grown considerably and welcomes riders to our show series from Pal-O-Mine, Stanhope, and Sweet Hills stables.  For more show dates, please click here.

Spring Fling Carnival hosted by HA and TSH (& a supportive Mother Nature!)
On Sunday, May 4th HorseAbility and Thomas School of Horsemanship teamed up to celebrate spring with a carnival with a bouncy castle, face-painting, pony rides, numerous carnival style games, arts & crafts, and bake sale.  With the sun shining, ear to ear smiles were to be found all over the property.  We look forward to the next event and warm, sunny weather so we can order a dunk tank in addition to the popcorn and cotton candy makers that went over so well. 

LIHSSRD Finals at The Hampton Classic 
On Monday, August 25th, LIHSSRD riders will be competing at The Hampton Classic for the finals  This will be the third year that The Hampton Classic be hosting the LIHSSRD Divisions.  Our sponsor this year is Bridgehampton National Bank.  Please come out to support our riders and their achievements. 

HorseAbility teams up with Ronald McDonald House for their Polo Event
The event will be held on September 13th at Hickox Field on Whitney Lane in Old Westbury. More details to follow...
