Barbara Hotchkin

Barbara is a graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester where she earned a BS degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology. She furthered her education by earning an MS degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology from Adelphi University and holds permanent New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped. After many years in the business world, she became a sign language interpreter and returned to working in the special education field. Barbara and her daughter, Kaitlyn, have been Horseability volunteers for the past 2 years.

In May 2009, Barbara became a certified NARHA instructor. She has served as PTA President of Woodward Parkway Elementary School, Vice President for Membership at Howitt Middle School and as Council President of Farmingdale Council of PTA’s. Horses and riding were a part of her life for many years and after a long hiatus she’s thrilled to be able to share this love with her daughter and the riders she teaches.
